Description

The lake was created more than 200 years ago to provide water to surrounding agricultural areas. However, at the end of the 19th century it remained abandoned and empty until the current owners bought the land in 1981. They were then refilled and stocked at the same time. The lake is about 24 acres and the bottom is uneven. On the south side, the depth varies between 1.50 and 2.50 m, while the northern part rises progressively to the bank.

A strictly limited number of fisherman ensures everyone enough space to fish comfortably. We offer 13 spacious fishing swims. Their access is very easy thanks to the grassy banks and firms all along the north shore. Which is perfect to park your car or caravan and set up  your bivvy nearby. All fishing swims are supplied with electricity and the site is secured by gates locked at night. Several stockings took place in the following years, including grass carp and catfish. The lake bed was very fertile when it was empty, which promoted the rapid development of a variety of aquatic life. Today etang 9 is particularly full of fish ! The figures speak for themselves:

  • About 1,000 carp, 80% of them over 22lbs,
  • The record of NEUF LAKE is a mirror carp of 60lbs,
  • There are more than 50 white love up to 44lbs,
  • There catfish weighing up to 77lbs.

Some original carp now weigh a record of over 60 lbs, several dozen carp of 35 lbs and hundreds of carp of 22 lbs.

Swims

Facilities

The fishing swims are very large and shores allow easy access for cars or caravans through banks farms all along the North Shore. With grassy areas, you can sit comfortably with the bivvy close to your fishing swims. All are equipped with electricity, allowing you to benefit from your electrical appliances or supply your caravan.

The site is secured by gates locked at night, which, with the toilet and shower near the lake, give this venue many benefits to be autonomous.
Accommodation

Etang 94 / 6 persons

Built in August 1999, it has a very high level of interior comfort and is located exactly at the water’s edge. The cottage sleeps up to 6 people. There is a double bedroom, a mezzanine with 2 single beds and a sofa double bed in the main room. It has its own bathroom, shower and toilet, water and electricity (metered), satellite TV and electric heating. It has all the equipment for kitchen, barbecue and garden furniture. Rules :

Etang 9 takes fish care very seriously. So following these steps will avoid any fatalities on the bank and will provide maximum welfare of fish. Thank you to respect.

1. Maximum 3 rods per angler
2. Rods are NEVER left unattended
3. The barbed hooks, braids and dangerous mounts are prohibited. THE MATERIAL MAY BE CHECKED AT ANY TIME.
4. Very thick landing mats are compulsory and will be checked before the stay.
5. All unhooking mats, nets and slings are to be wet before use.
6. Seeds are necessarily cooked.
7. The initiators boats are allowed in respect of the neighboring post
8. For sturgeon, landing net is prohibited. The stall and the photos can only be done in the water with the fish.
9. The fishermen will hand water fish in the best conditions and as quickly as possible.
10. Conservation bags are banned even at night.
11. When holding fish for photographs, never stand to have your picture taken or hold the carp too high above the mat. Support the carps weight with both hands underneath. If the fish flaps whilst holding it, simply bring the fish into your body then place back on the cot, wet the fish up from the bucket provided, and start again.  All fish should be returned to the lake using the sling

Regulation :
To preserve the tranquility of all, we have established the following rules which must be respected:
12. Not registred visitors are not allowed.
13. Our friends dogs are not allowed.
14. The use of the radio should be as unobtrusive as possible.
15. Only the lights in individual barbecues are allowed and ground fires are prohibited
16. After your departure sites must be kept clean and in the same condition as your arrival.
17. The fisherman has the responsibility to inform his/her guests about these regulation conditions. Landlors or rentor will not be held responsible for injury, death, damage, loss, delay, cost, expense, or inconvenience arising from fishing misfortunes beyond our control.
18. Drugs and excessive alcohol use are prohibited under penalty of immediate dismissal.
19. Any conflicts arising between fishermen or caused by fishermen will be managed by the landlord.
20. The management takes no responsibility for injury, loss or damage to you or your property
21. The reservation will be confirmed at a deposit.
22. For your security establishment is placed under video surveillance.
23. The position must be vacated before 12.00 and arrivals are at 14.00
24. Fishermen must pass by the management office before getting settled on a fishing spot
25. Drivers must move on the property at a snail’s pace (below 10 km/h)
26. The use of cars by fishermen on the property will be by exceptional clearance upon request.
27. Trash must be packed into appropriate plastic bags and put down by the gate
